The Canine and Feline Blood Bank of India (CFBBI) is a national scale initiative designed to solve one of the most critical challenges in veterinary medicine. Timely access to safe, compatible blood for dogs and cats. Emergencies move fast. The search for a donor should not. CFBBI creates the digital infrastructure needed to match donors and recipients at the district level and coordinate transfusions with clinical precision.
CFBBI was created with a simple but powerful objective. Build a reliable, transparent, clinically safe network for canine and feline blood availability across India. Every part of the system, from registration to transfusion outcome tracking, is engineered to reduce time, remove uncertainty, and support veterinarians in making life saving decisions.
Veterinary clinics across India face the same issue. They do not have a structured donor database. Most transfusions rely on last minute phone calls, informal networks, and luck. Cats and certain dog breeds are especially difficult to match due to specific blood groups. Delays cost lives. CFBBI replaces uncertainty with a structured database, district wise visibility, and coordinated logistical support.
CFBBI operates as a national digital registry for pet donors supported by an SOS engine that activates when a transfusion is needed. As the network expands, CFBBI will connect pet owners, veterinarians, diagnostic centers, and future blood bank units into one seamless platform. This structure ensures clinical-grade reliability even before physical storage centers come online.
CFBBI is built on secure, scalable infrastructure using PHP and MySQL. Every donor record, crossmatch entry, and transfusion outcome is logged, verified, and stored with medical quality standards. Data is the foundation. It drives matching accuracy, mapping of breed based blood group distributions, prediction of demand patterns, and future integration with government systems.
The platform tracks:
This structured approach ensures that veterinarians have access to reliable data before every procedure and that pet owners receive timely support.
CFBBI is being spearheaded by Mr. Chetan Vengurlekar, who leads the development of the digital and operational architecture for the initiative. Under his direction, the platform is being built as a national-grade medical logistics system that can integrate seamlessly with veterinary institutions and future government frameworks.
The project currently operates in collaboration with Fredna Diagnostic Center, a subsidiary of Fredun Pharmaceuticals, which serves as the primary diagnostic partner during the initial build-out phase. As the network expands, veterinary colleges, speciality clinics, and existing blood banks will be invited to join the platform, strengthening regional availability and supporting the creation of a unified national transfusion infrastructure.
The mission does not end with donor matching. CFBBI aims to become India’s veterinary medical logistics backbone with future expansions into:
The first milestone is canine and feline blood safety. The long term vision is a unified national infrastructure for veterinary healthcare.
CFBBI stands for clinical safety, digital transparency, and nationwide accessibility. We are building not just a platform, but a system that can scale into the country’s most trusted veterinary support network.
Join us as we build a safer, more reliable future for pets across India. Every registered donor strengthens the network. Every successful transfusion proves the value of coordination. Together, we are shaping the next chapter of veterinary healthcare.
